Leakhena Swett, International Liquid Terminals Association

Leakhena’s experience in the association industry spans over 20 years. She is known for her work with American Chiropractic Association, the Association of American Pharmaceutical Scientists, and the Irrigation Association, and currently with the International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA). Leakhena began her career with ITLA in 2019 as the Director of Membership, where she established and lead the membership department and became an integral part of growing ITLA’s membership, expanding their marketing outreach efforts, and building a robust internal team. She now serves as the Association’s Executive Vice President.

In 2009, Leakhena accompanied her Army husband to SHAPE NATO in Belgium, where she and her family lived for three years. While residing abroad, Leakhena remained involved in the association space by serving on the Executive Board of the Family Readiness Group, assisting military families in acclimating to their new environment and fostering a sense of community. For her contributions, she was awarded the Department of the Army of Appreciation for Patriotic Civilian Service in 2012.

When she is not working, Leakhena enjoys spending beach time with her family; her husband, Justin, her son, Noah, a rising sophomore at James Madison University, and her daughter, Hannah, rising 8th grader.
